Assignments

Homework set after class, handed in online, marked with written feedback.

Students submit typed answers, a file, or both. Tutors can also assign a whole test series with a due date, and every student has a personal homework planner.

Step by step

From set to marked

Part 1 of 5

Set homework after class

  1. 1

The tutor opens the session's Activity page and presses + Assign homework.

  2. 2

They add a title and instructions, and optionally a due date, maximum marks and an attachment such as a worksheet.

Part 2 of 5

Hand it in online

  1. 3

The student opens the same session's Activity page, types an answer and/or attaches a file, and presses Submit.

  2. 4

Until it's marked, the student can Resubmit as many times as they like; the latest version replaces the earlier one.

Part 3 of 5

Marked, with feedback

  1. 5

The tutor opens View submissions, enters a mark and writes feedback.

  2. 6

The student sees Marked: X/Y with the tutor's feedback.

Part 4 of 5

Assign a whole test series

  1. 7

The tutor opens Assign, picks a published test series in a subject they teach, picks one of their classes, and optionally sets a due date and time.

  2. 8

Students in that class see it under Tests › Assigned, with Total, Completed, In-progress and Overdue counts.

Part 5 of 5

Your own homework planner

  1. 9

The student opens Homework and adds their own items with a title, class, due date and priority (low, medium or high).

  2. 10

Items are grouped into Overdue, Today, This week and No date, with a calendar view.

How it works

A clean queue for every tutor

One submission per student

Each student has one submission per homework, which they can replace until it's marked. That keeps the tutor's queue clean: they always see the latest version.

Marking

A mark and real feedback

The tutor gives a mark between 0 and the maximum they set, and up to 4,000 characters of feedback. Homework is marked by the tutor personally.

Due dates

Everyone knows what's expected, and when

A due date tells students when work is expected and drives the “overdue” flags on dashboards. When a test series is assigned again to the same class, only its due date is updated.

Tutor dashboard

Follow-ups that don't slip

The tutor's home screen highlights overdue and missing homework across their classes, so follow-ups don't slip.
